My focus within my art is to magnify life and nature together through the lens of our human understanding. Our perspective and grasp of the world will always be made through the eyes that we were born with, the senses we were made to feel. I wanted to embrace that when I aim to portray nature, whether through paint or through plants themselves.
Over the years, I grew to find flowers, namely orchids, as symbols of life, that which I am drawn to. When we think of something alive, of nature, of the world, often flowers and their flourishing colors are among the first perceptions. The same is said for human life, when shown as vividly, as alive beings thriving. Paralleling nature within human figuration, my artistic practice aims to connect people to nature as a part of themselves, and make them think about such connections, as sublime, beautiful, and visceral.
