What's so important about wanting to examine one's gender identity and sexuality? That's the keyword: Wanting. I consider being able to "want" without being apologetic about it as a form of revolt, an exercise of power. My works are mostly figurative, and are about translating my immediate social realities and the media I constantly consume—filtered through the lens of female autonomy.
